Assemblywomen

The women of Athens seize control of the government, instating an entirely communal society...even when it comes to matters of love. How far is too far in a democracy? This 2400-year-old farce is as topical as it is hysterical. 60 minutes

Aristophanes was the Mel Brooks of the Greek classical world - capable of clever satire but inclined toward vulgar humor. Combined with attitides toward women in the 5th Century BCE and...be prepared for some offensive material. Having said that, there are few opportunities to see Greek plays and the performers do a good job with the material.
